French Toast In A Mug

I thought I'd go for a very different kind of post on this week's BeYoutiful blog post-I hope you enjoy, and if you'd like more of these kind of blog posts, let me know in the comments ;)

I've recently been loving trying out different recipes you can whip up in under five minutes, and microwave in a mug! I especially like making this recipe and others in the morning when I'm in a rush to prepare breakfast and can't cook my usual breakfast favorite-oatmeal. xD If you're looking for a unique twist on a classic breakfast favorite or a quick & delicious recipe, go ahead and try making your own French toast in a mug! ;)

French Toast-In-A-Mug

You'll need:
  • 4 tablespoons milk
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup (or light corn syrup, the maple syrup gives it some additional flavor)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 egg
  • 1-2 slices of bread, buttered
  • Nutmeg and all spice (optional)

1. Mix the first four ingredients together in a mug. (Make sure your mug is microwave safe first!) Add the bread by cutting into bite size pieces and placing in mug with French toast coating.
2. Microwave for 30-60 seconds, until French toast is warm/hot (whatever your preference for while eating).
3. After it is taken out of microwave, you can sprinkle the French toast with nutmeg and/or allspice on top lightly; I'm a huge spice lover (the spicer, the better for me) so this is completely optional for you.
4. Enjoy the deliciousness of this classic "toast" twist, in-a-mug ;)

xx,
Veronica

  1. I was looking for powdered sugar the whole time XD I always have my French Toast with butter and powdered sugar. I don't think I've ever had it any other way.
