Coconut Oil: The Ultimate Health Hack

I always can go on and on about the health benefits and many uses coconut oil has for the skin and body...so I decided to write about a few hacks coconut oil can be used for to give your skincare routine a natural boost, as well as for other uses. :) Since its all natural and packed with vitamins that's great for your skin-and won't irritate it either-its the ultimate skin care hacker. I decided to give this oil a go when my skin care routine wasn't helping my skin and acne problems, and was pleasantly surprised that it didn't irritate my ultra-sensitive skin but was the perfect balm and supplement for the rest of my daily skin care routine. Read on for some hacks on skin care and other uses for coconut oil that reap the health benefits =)

Eye Makeup Remover-Just immersing a cotton ball into coconut oil and rubbing it gently over your eyes to remove eyeliner, eye shadow and even mascara off your eyelashes at the end of the day is an easy, healthy way to get off all the makeup you wore on the eyes for the day.
Natural Moisturizer-I apply coconut oil to my face and even dry areas of my body daily to moisturize, and the bonus is it gives off a healthy looking glow if you use it consistently. However, remember a tinny bit of coconut oil goes a very LONG way-so don't put a ton on your face-it will take forever to soak in if you do and make your face look...basically like you soaked it in oil lol.
Eyelash Strengthener-Before bed, apply a bit of coconut oil with a cutip to your eyelashes. This will stimulate growth and thickening in your eyelashes as you sleep. Before applying makeup in the morning, just gently wash off the remaining oil.
Eyebrow Tamer/Definer-Sometimes my eyebrows (probably like most peep's) go a l'il haywire-and I need some sort of tamer for them that will keep them in place and defined all day. Since I recently have really been liking the highly defined eyebrow look, I put quite a bit of coconut oil on my eyebrows each morning to keep their upward arch in place. Again, don't use too much of the oil here-the amount the size of a pea is enough, especially if you want to go for a more natural eyebrow look instead of highly defined ones.
Coffee Flavoring-I know, this one sounds strange after all the external uses I've listed for coconut oil, but coconut oil is great for the insides of your body as well as the outside. ;) Adding about a teaspoon of the oil per 6 oz. of coffee you drink is delicious-it adds this aromatic flavor and boosts the health benefits in your daily coffee drinking. Just make sure the coconut oil you're using for this one is pure organic coconut oil, with nothing that could potentially be harmful to your insides added to the oil.

Well, that's all the ways I have been using coconut oil recently and wanted to share with you, lovelies! Make sure you let me know in the comments if you ever use coconut oil for any of these or other methods, and if you are going to try any of these hacks yourself :)

xx,
Veronica
